Spaying or neutering your kitty is one of the best decisions you can make. 

Female cats that are not spayed have a higher risk of mammary cancer and uterine infections. When they are in heat they can also display a host of unwanted behavior. And, of course, they can become pregnant. Cats are capable of having up to two litters a year, with four to six kittens on average each time.

Intact males will commonly get into fights over eligible females, which can result in wounds and infection. They also will yowl in the early morning, and spray to mark their territory.

Spaying and neutering can be done as long as your kitten weighs two pounds or is two months of age. The basic idea is to do it before the kitten becomes fully mature at approximately six months of age, although some cats have been known to mature as early as four months.

Drop-off and Pick-up Schedule

On the day of the procedure, we have you drop off early in the morning, between the hours of 7:30 and 8:30 AM. You can choose to be present during the exam or we can talk to you about our findings when you pick up your baby. Pick-up time is usually around 3:00 PM or later. If you work, we can hold the kitten until 5:30 PM the latest, because we close at 6:00 PM and we want to give you enough time to speak with the doctor about the procedure and anything else that might have come up during the exam.
